EastBanc is transforming the office building at 1250 U Street into an innovative mixed-use development with residential, neighborhood retail and, potentially, small boutique hotel component. The proposed redevelopment will bring retail, public art, affordable and market-rate housing, and streetscape improvements to the U Street corridor.

The site is currently an office building, two row homes, and vacant alley lots behind.



Happening Next

The Zoning Commission published its Final Order for the Planned Unit Development (PUD) application March 2023. The PUD is currently under appeal. Further progress on the project is pending resolution of the appeal.
